In this week’s Vlog I share 2 simple exercises to prevent anxiety right now!
It seems like uncertainty is more evident than ever.
There is not enough information to fill multiple individual and collective unknowns.
That builds anxiety!
1) What do I know?
Replace your unknowns by your knowns:
I know I have $X in my bank account
I know I’m safe and healthy
I know I’m watching this video
I know I have a home
I know I’ve overcome a lot in my life
2) Map your response strategies
Are you replaying worse case scenarios in your mind?
Write possible action plans for each scenario.
Mapping your responses will give you the feeling of being prepared for whatever comes.
You can stop living (in your mind) a negative future that may never happen and instead, focus on what you can do right now!
Caveat: The suggested tools are intended to diminish daily common anguishes. I understand anxiety can become a complex condition. Its manifestation may hold relevant deep information, therefore, in many cases, preventing it is not the best alternative. Listening and understanding what it tells us will be the key for deep healing.
