Being on the run, stressed, anxious and tense is killing us. We have the tools to shift that. You don’t need to be an experienced meditator to start taking charge of your inner state.
When designing the structure and content of the Breathe In App I was thinking about how we all get stressed, tense, anxious, and need something efficient that can help us right at the moment without demanding more of us. I thought: having quick powerful nuggets of connection to address, on the spot, our specific need, would make an immense difference. We don’t need to wait to have the perfect setting and “enough” time to go within and shift our perspective and how we are experiencing the external world.
Understanding this gap, I integrated science-based techniques -proven to shift our inner rhythm and neuropathways– to create Breathing and Meditative exercises, to target specific states and needs. Audios go between 3 and 20 minutes, aiming to direct the mind and energy to where you want to take it. Then, you can choose how much longer you want to stay listening to the calming sounds.
Who was I thinking about when designing the meditative exercises and breathwork?
There are already great meditation masters that teach and live the wealth of meditation techniques. There are, as well, meditation Apps such as the popular Calm App.
So, when designing the content for the Breath In App, I asked myself: what do we all – meditators and non-meditators- need?
I’ve been meditating for over 20 years and doing it daily for the last 10. I have experienced the progressive up-level in the control over my mind and inner power. However, there are still moments during the day when I need to come back to myself and shift my mindset, my energy, my perspective. There are still days when stress wins, or a situation makes me anxious or tense. And, when that happens, I don’t want to wait until the day ends or for the next morning to reconnect back to a place of calm. I want to be able to reconnect and unblock in that exact moment. I want to give space to what I’m feeling, and then return back to my day with a greater sense of agency.
I want to have the ability to pay attention to what is going inside me. To make a full stop instead of keep on the doing, to then have to deal with unwanted consequences from reacting out of those states. I like having real inner power over my life experience. So, I guess everyone else does so as well. I can definitively see that desire in my clients, colleagues, friends, and family.
Become efficient to improve your wellbeing
We all run busy lives. It is part of the world we’ve created. We are always on the run, fixing things, chasing goals… I understand we all want to do and achieve things, but that does not have to be at the cost of our relationships, our health, and most of all, at the cost of our connection to ourselves and of living our human design.
Many of the things that have us on the hamster wheel are unnecessary, can be delegated or minimized. We’ve been convincing ourselves that in order to be important we must be hyper-productive and busy and that there is no alternative. However, in order to see how we can create more value and achieve our true innermost goals in a more efficient way, we need to connect to our inner guidance and create space for that wisdom to land.
What makes the Breathe In app unique?
Over a few weeks, I sat down to carefully design and write the content. The sequence of each breathing exercise was well researched to guarantee it addresses the specific target. In the case of the meditative exercises, the intention was to use science-based techniques -that I’ve tested and curated over two decades- to create unique audios aimed to take the mind and body to the desired place in a very efficient way. I use the Breathe In App myself almost daily and find it very effective.
When you open yourself in full disposition to create value, something happens. It stops being about you doing something, and more about it being through you that something is created. That is exactly what happened while I was creating the content for the Breathe In app, so, I can’t take the credits for how good it is. Also, the strength of the content goes to another level with the graphic and functional design of the App done by Hi Mom. Just opening it brings you into the magic and the mind starts calming down.
Your choice
The Breathe In App is broken down into inner states and/or needs and within each, there are targeted breathwork and meditative exercises to choose from. For example:
If you feel stressed you can choose to do:
- Breathwork: guided sequence to inhale in 4 counts, exhale in 6 counts. You choose for how long 😉
- Meditative exercise: 4 minutes audio to activate mental calmness
- Meditative exercise: 4 minutes audio to wash your stress away
If you need to process emotions, choose from:
- Breathwork: guided sequence inhale in 6 counts, hold for a count of 2, exhale for a count of 8. You choose for how long 😉
- Meditative exercise: 18 minutes audio to dissolve emotional blockages (a very powerful and transformative tool if done for 21+ consecutive days)
- Meditative exercise: 4 minutes audio to allow your body to process emotions on the spot.
If you want to begin your day super empowered, choose:
- Breathwork: guided sequence inhale in 4 counts, exhale for a count of 4. You choose for how long 😉
- Meditative exercise: 13 minutes audio to evolve your identity.
- Meditative exercise: 3 minutes to connect with the quiet space inside.
I hope you have the opportunity to try it out and, above all, I hope it helps you to experience a life worthy of you.
